My NIS 2006 is up for renewal in a few months. I've read a few reports that NIS 2007 isn't as good as it doesn't have a couple of the security things. I'm very happy with NIS 2006 as I've not had a single thing affect my PC. My philosophy is 'if it's not broke don't fix it'. I'm thinking of renewing it online through the software itself.

Any input from you folks who have experience with both 2006 & 2007 would be great.

Thanks

***** Comment: I had AVG on my last laptop, even though it was kept upto date, there were so many threats that got into my pc. I binned it, installed Norton, done a scan and it cleaned my pc up. It's been clean ever since.

I also run: Adaware SE Personal, Spybot S&D 1.4 & MS Defender.

I had real issues with Norton/Symantec support, so I just quit purchasing it. I bought Norton System Works and/or NIS for many years and their support team turned me off so bad that I'll never spend another cent on their products. Additionally Norton and McAfee are very slow booting and shutting down and are major resource hogs. Both of them take about 70M of RAM just to run on your pc.

I opted for AVG Antivirus (Free version) and I haven't had a single problem since I switched to it. The free version monitors your pc constantly, scans your PC daily, updates itself daily, and checks your incoming email for viruses. You can get it here. Simply search for AVG Antivirus Free

I do also run Spy Sweeper to cover those bases also.

Think about it and save yourself about $80 a year.
