Brackish water ( brack water) is water that is saltier than fresh water, but not as salty as seawater. It results from the mixing of seawater with fresh water, as in estuaries, or it may occur in some brackish aquifers.
The Marine Biome includes estuaries. Estuaries are partially enclosed bodies of water where saltwater from the sea mixes with freshwater from rivers, streams and creeks as well as runoff and ground water.
