Is it too much to ask for a little planning before having sex? Why is abortion viewed as a form of birth control?

If you are not afraid of birth control then, why do you support abortion? Its much easier than an abortion and it costs less.
I support it in the event of rape though.

Sex is not just for creation. It is fun. However my partners and I have never had a child that was not planned.

For those who say items fail, low dose birth control pill do. So why does planned parenthood give them out?
Condoms do break, but a combination of birth control and a condom usually works to prevent pregnancy. What about an IUD?
They teach sex ed in schools today. So why are girls still getting pregnant?

montreaux1991 - Glad to hear that you and your BF are responsible. However why do you go to bashing me about this topic? I am simply asking why abortion is used as a form of birth control and you slam me and Bush for it. Grow up please.

CAUSE, liberals feel that you are NOT accountable for your actions.
"oh you had unprotected sex and got pregnant, don't worry you can have an abortion, and don't worry its not a baby, so its not murder"
"oh you stole something, its OK cause you are poor and oppressed"
"oh you don't want to work, its OK, here's money from the people who do work hard"
i don't like liberals they are whats wrong with this world.

I am pro-choice but I don't see abortion as a form of birth control, it's a last resort when all other methods fail!
I take my reproductive health VERY seriously!
Birth control is a must for any woman who is sexually active, and doesn't want to get pregnant!
With all the available methods, chemical and non-chemical, there really aren't too many excuses for an unwanted pregnancy anymore!
But if a woman gets pregnant after taking all available precautions, she should have the right to choose whether she wants to have the child or not!
I still would hope that any woman facing this dilemma would consider the alternatives, such as adoption, but ultimately she has to decide what she thinks is the best solution at the time.
At this point in my life, I probably would not, but when I was younger, I might have. Luckily, I never have been faced with that decision!

Planning doesn't mean a thing; birth control fails. Even the pill, which is supposed to be 99.9% effective has a flaw and once in a while, even when someone used a condom AND the pill, she'll get pregnant. Even with planning, it happens and that's why abortions are legal: so that people that DID plan and DID make the effort to avoid getting pregnant don't have to shoot out a baby.
Abortion IS a form of birth control; it shouldn't be used as a regular form however and certainly not a primary method.
I know that, as someone who is pro-choice, I'm for birth control (condoms, the pill, etc.) being free, plentiful, and extremely available to prevent abortions from being needed. However, in this entirely imperfect world, condoms break, the pill fails, and pregnancy happens. You shouldn't force a women to get a back-alley abortion if she gets pregnant when she has done all she can to prevent it.

(1) Little planning does fail sometimes. When it fails, it is always the female who will have to take the most of the responsibilities (physically, mentally, and probably financially).
What do male(s) do? Men can always walk away, but women always end up with her children for life without a choice.
(2) Rapists don't do "little planning", other than run-away plans.
(3) Do you rather have more kids grow up in an orphanage, street, and/or on welfare? Do you wish to see more teenage mothers? Do you wish to see more single-parent mothers on welfare?
Why would you want to bring a life into this world to suffer especially when the parents aren't ready for the baby?
Abortion isn't exactly a form of birth control. Any abortion procedure can potentially damage/hurt the mother (again, not the father) physically. However, it should still be a choice for the women as the last resort.

We have ALWAYS advocated birth control above abortion. Abortion is an absolute last resort; even abortion clinics give women information on adoption!! If you just took a moment to perhaps read NARAL Pro-Choice America's mission statement, you would see exactly what we stand for.
My BF and I BOTH take responsibility and use birth control.
I personally would not chose to have an abortion, but I will never tell another person what to do with their body.
The option should always be there, and it should be free of any restrictions. It is a very personal decision that should be left up to a woman and her physician; She has to live with her conscience.
Women that use it as a sole form of birth control are disgusting. But that's what "abstinence only" education and absentee parenting creates; more abortions.
You Bushites have the nerve to talk about morals; you sent 3,400 soldiers to die and thousands more to be maimed for your greed.

Your question irrelevant since it's based upon stereotypes and your personal bias since we don't know who really seeks abortions - % birth control method failed and % did not use birth control.
Why are you afraid of abortion?
Is it too much to ask that people like you think before making such an uninformed statement?

Hmmmm do condoms break? Why yes...yes they do. Are birth control pills 100 percent effective. Why no..no they're not.
Abortion isn't viewed as a form of birth control. It's a medical choice a woman gets to make about her own body. Deal with it.

They're not. Birth control should be cheap and readily available. Unfortunately many on the right have a problem with that.
Telling a woman what she should have done doesn't address the situation she finds herself in or the decision she has to make. Her decision.

I don't support abortion, I support the ability for the individual to make their own decisions, I am actually opposed to abortion concerning my family.
