This of course, depends on the nature of the problem! Sometimes, all it takes is to put aside your pride and admit to doing something wrong. Taking the first step and apologizing can solve a lot of problems as long as the apology is genuine and not given simply because it was demanded. :)

No, most problems need to be fixed or resolved, not just apologized for. They don't just go away, but an apology is a start.

No. I think some things can be, but not major ones. Not the kind of problems that have caused deep hurt, no one can erase emotion like that with a word, no matter how heartfelt.

Nope. I need money....and a court hearing....and last I checked I don't get paid to say "I'm sorry", and I don't get custody just by telling the judge "i'm sorry".
