Can anyone who's good at gardening where was the tomato first found and how was it founded, how is the food planted? grown, processed and packaged?

Not 100% certain but I believe it is native to South and Central America as is maize and the potato. The fruit, yes the tomato is a fruit, was originally thought to be poisonous as it belongs to the nightshade family. The tomato is grown from seed and is an annual so must be planted every year. Growing is easy but it does need staking and when very young needs protection from birds. It has many pests and diseases that attack it and needs daily attention. The fruit is either picked to be consumed fresh or it is sent to a cannery to be canned or used in other processed foods.
