One of my favorites; Prevaricator ... it's hardly ever used in common conversation, but you've got to admit, it's a cool word!

An asshole? Seriously, though, I think the term denoting a compulsive/pathological liar is a 'mythomaniac' (from 'mythomania'). See:

untrustworthy...regardless of the reasons that someone should lie, if it is a lie to you and that person stands as someone you would trust on any level, then they have amounted themselves to being untrusted.
