It has Ick. (looks like white spots). U can buy drops to put in the water from any store that sells fish products. But if u don't do it soon it will spred to the other fish and they will die from it!
But if your fish are outside in the sunlight they can get sunburnt. The tip of their backs get white, but it will turn back orange when it heals!
I have a 1000 gal. coi pond and I have just lost a bunch of fish because of ick!

Supposedly, if you keep a goldfish in a dark room it will turn white. It doesnt effect them in any way though, just their color.

Are you leaving them in the dark for long periods of time? If you do that they will loose their color and turn white. I know it's strange but true.

check the label of the food you feed them. if it contains color enhancers or color boosters in it then thats why. usually starts on the belly or finns. i have had solid black moor goldfish turn silver or gold gradually.

your fish is not getting enough sunlight. it's true! take a goldfish and place him in a dark room, he will lose his color.

If they're young, it's because they're still changing colours. Otherwise, it's because they're not getting enough light and possibly not getting their dietary requirements in their food.
