Make sure your skills are current - take classes - see who is a top employee and learn from what they do. Ask your boss if you
can do extra assignments - Stay later than everyone else - Don't be the first out the door and make sure your boss sees you working and not surfing the net. Complete your degree if you haven't finished college. Learn what you company does and transfer into departments that are doing the most significant work. If you are
idle and don't have enough to do - you will be let go.

Unless the terrorists nuke the left coast or the big shake comes along and we sink into the Pacific, I will be here at my job till they pry my dried up arthritic fingers off the time clock I'll never leave my Civil Service job.

There are no guarantee's. I have 5 $ 50000 deposits for new houses which is legally mine if the people back out, but I never count on a contract.

I'm a social worker and I do child protection. Unfortunately as long as people continue to abuse and neglect their children I will always have a job. I think it would be pretty frickin' fantastic if my services were no longer needed because parents actually decided to do right by their kids.

The only guarantee I can think of for anyone in that situation is that you own the company, your relative or spouse is the owner. Otherwise, in my opinion, there are no guarantees! God Bless!

Anyone who looks for guarantees in life needs to reassess. Control is an illusion. If you are where you need to be, moment by moment, then, you will have lived your life actualized. It's not about sailing calm seas, it's about the adventures along the way.

I am fairly sure that my job will be there until the end of June. But after that, I really don't know.

Everybody needs electricty. According to how most of our customers act when the lights go out, people can't live without it!

Seeing as how I'm a stay at home wife & mom I'd say my chances are pretty good unless I can get them to go away somehow.
