Gerald Ford was known for being honest as a "boyscout."
I think that even though people may not have liked the outcome thusfar, President Bush has been honest and faithful to the American people. He has not waivered in his stance at all in the war on terror. He has cut taxes like he said he would. He has increased funding for education, aids research, has proposed a revision for the tax code that would make private insurance less expensive, is working towards becoming less dependent on foreign oil, etc. It's just hard to focus on the positive when we are at war.

As far as honest goes, probably not for 100+ years. Faithful? Most all of them think or thought they were doing what was in the best interest of the nation. The dividing line is between those that understood that they served at the will of the people and not the other way around.
For the poster who said Andrew Jackson, check your history; he was the architect of US ethnic cleansing against the native American tribes that stood in the way of his expansion plans (Indian Removal Act) and violated almost every treaty signed with them. He actively partcipated in cronyism in the Spoils system. I don't see how that qualifies him as being honest or faithful.

Although I absolutely do not like President Bush, I do believe that he is honest and faithful. He did rely on bad intelligence from the CIA, France, Germany, Brittain and Russia regarding WMD's, but he relied on that bad intelligence in good faith.

I am sorry, but the words politician (at any level) and honesty should not even be in the same dictionary. My answer: NEVER

Although he was incompetent Jimmy Carter was probably our last fully honest president. Before that it would be Eisenhower to a point and Truman.

By law, we should not have a faithful president, that is, faithful to any religion...
However, a president should be faithful to his wife and family.........
