My spouse and I are more like friends with benefits. We have kids and they are our first priority. But aside from that...he's okay with me dating and I'm okay with him dating. We care about eachother. Anyone else have that kind of marriage?

Who's to judge? Humans are not monogamous creatures. In the animal world, the purpose of pair-bonding is to ensure that offspring get the help they need to survive. Period. Marriage is how (some) human cultures have institutionalized that survival need. The main thing is that your kids get off to a decent start, and there are many different ways to ensure this.

My marrige is nothing like that. I want to be the only man she is with and she is the only woman I want to be with. Our kids are our first priority as well, but I think that is true in most families. Sounds like you have an open marriage and I'm not too sure if that is healthy for all involved.

You shouldn't be married then. Marriage is a sacred thing for 2 people that are in love with each other and want to spend the rest of their lives together no one else. I don't believe in open marriages, call me old fashion.

Heard of them, very rare but this is the first time Ive ever had direct contact with one. I guess whatever you two are comfortable with and it really does sound like it works at least for you two, and you both are happy with the arrangement, then I personally wish you both all the best. of course on the flip side I have heard of many that became complete disasters too with violence.
