What cup?

I know that, theoretically, this is supposed to be a subjective measurement of attitudinal polarity, but there actually IS a correct answer.

It all depends on knowing the immediatly preceding state of the glass' contents. If it started out full and someone drank or poured half of it out, then it is half EMPTY. If it started out empty and someone poured half a glassfull into it, then it is half FULL.

As to my own attitudinal polarity (Yes, I DO know that is what you are REALLY asking), I'll just say that my life is full of glasses and some are completely empty, some are half empty, some are half full and some are completely full. The percentages shift constantly along with the events in my day-to-day life.

If it was a literal cup I would see it as half full.
In a figurative sense, it would depend on the situation, sometimes I could be pessimistic about things and other times optimistic.

When I'm filling it I consider it half full. When I'm emptying it I see it as half empty.

My cup is always full.

One half might be full of water but the other half is full of air.

It's all a matter of perspective and seeing all the possibilities.
