I think she's depressing and annoying and SO self-centered! It makes me want to jump through the tv screen so I can slap her and scream "grow up!"

constant dieter: Yeah, I hear ya. I know Meredith's issues are what make her Meredith, but at some point the writers are going to need make her start getting it all together.
fashion//obsessed: You need to chill out a little bit. Meredith's not a real person. I just happen to think her character is super annoying and because of that I want her change so that I will enjoy watching the show more.

I understand she has issues stemming from her mother and her "I'm a wuss" father. but I seriously belive she needs to grow up. Comittment is just another step in life. Derek is ready for it, which makes me think that the new "GREY" in the show will be good for him. Either he'll get with her, or she'll show him that he needs to move on.
Yea, everyone has a "love of their life", but if it doesnt work out with that person, you need to move on. Derek needs to move on. Meredith is self-centered and has no real direction right now. Derek was going to be CHIEF!!! he has direction.
Dump Grey #1 and find someone else.

The Meredith character has understandable issues. An emotionally distant Mother, an absent father, then taking care of the mother who didn't even recognize her anymore, then the Mother dies, then the step mother dies, then the father who was starting to warm up blames her for the stepmother's death. Not a good basis for a well balanced character. I think Izzy is much more annoying than Meredith.

Yep. I think if they show didn't have her name in the title, there would be no point in having her. But, they DID introduce that new girl with the name "grey"...

i like merideth however she has some real deep issues she needs to get a grip on. i can't beleive she dumped mcdreamy!!! just one more issue.. she definatly has some emotional problems!!!!
