is there anyway i can go back to the original page after looking at lots of web sites other than using "back" or
keying out and starting again I am very new to computers

In the newest FireFox and Internet Explorer versions, tabbed browsing is supported. This means that you can open a link to a new site in a separate tab by holding the CTRL key while clicking the link. I like to use this method to keep the original site in place while I check out links from it in new tabs. CTRL+w will close the tab you're viewing, so you can easily close a link after viewing it and the original page will be open in the first tab.

press ctrl-h (ie hold down the control ctrl key and h key at the same time) and a window with you history usage should come appear.

you can normally organise it by date or site

Just click on your home page icon on the toolbar. It looks like a house.

click on the little house at the top it'll take you back to your home page. the page that loads when you first open your brouser.

Yes! You should see an icon in your toolbar that looks like a house. This is your 'homepage' button...takes you to your homepage. (Google, Yahoo, MSN whatever you're set as)

use the history ctrl+h


EDIT:
ctrl+h = press and hold "ctrl" and then press "h"
