I'm single, but if I wasn't... my partner will know that I am faithful and disease free....but they don't need to know the minute details of my life, and I doubt they really want to....however if they ask, I will be truthful.

While it would be a noble idea to share everything with your partner, what happens after one has opened up is not quite certain. It certainly unpredictable how a partner will react after having been told one thing by the other partner. There are a lot of possibilities here which range from, Divorce, separation, change of attitude or relationship strength or one will even be reported to the police/ church pastor. So saying is a Risk not worth taking, however some secrets do hound the owner for long, unfortunately that's something you will have to live with.Note: if i keep a secret from my partner it is for us both.

Yes, there are some things I would never tell my partner... I think everyone should have their own little secrets. I honestly think there are some things that a partner would not want to know.

On the other hand though, the things I don't share could be the same kind of things that my partner is not sharing. So if you want your partner to disclose everything, you should too.

I do think its important to discuss things that could effect their health though (i.e. HIV status, STD's)

I really don't try to at all. I think it makes us a stronger couple if we're most honest with each other and he doesn't keep secrets from me. but there has been a couple times where we forget to tell each other something! I think it helps that we're really open about a lot of things. I think it's part of a strong foundation.

I used to... but I came clean... and now I couldn't be happier
secrets will just eat you up inside, and make you sick.
if someone now askes me "can you keep a secret" I always say "depends on who you don't want me to tell, cus I tell my wife EVERYTHING"
now the only secrets I keep from her are what she is getting for her birthday or Christmas

Anyone who says they dont keep secrets from their partners, are lying. Everybody has lied at one point in their life. I dont have a partner anymore becuase we both lied to each other.

Of course- I think everyone does.

But I don't on important things.

I like to believe it's for the good of the relationship. For instance, if you hate your mother-in-law's cooking, but you only have to deal with it on Easter and your spouse loves it, what's the sense in being honest? You still need to go there for Easter, so why make everyone feel bad?

But if it's "do I still love you", or "I'm cheating behind your back" it's a different story.

Not really except if I talk to a guy I usually won't tell him cause he gets really jealous over any guy. Even the 80 year cashier at the store if I talk to him too long he freaks out. Weird huh.

When I had one, I only kept one secret...

And that was when I was planning on leaving.

A secret is a secret only when you know it , once it is out it's no more a secret, it's CNN,VOA, BBC etc.
