i didn't start wearing makeup until i was about 14, and even then it was only eyeliner and mascara. some lipgloss too. i didn't start to wear foundation and other makeup products until i was probably 16. i think you should mainly focus on products like moisturizers and facial cleansers to keep your skin looking great. when you reach the age that your parents feel you can wear makeup you won't need much because you'l have already been taking care of your skin.

Your parents are doing the right thing. You are too young, sorry to say, to be wearing makeup. At eleven you should just enjoy being young because the time will come, trust me on this, when you will wish to be 11 again. There is plenty of time ahead of you to wear makeup and then you will get sick of wearing it at some point, believe it or not.

To answer you question, 16 is acceptable for young ladies to begin wearing makeup.

I'll tell you what my mom did for me....which I liked. When I turned 12 I was able to pick one makeup product (mascara, lip stick, eye shadow) and I could only wear that until I was 13 then I could pick one more, then one more at 14....and so on. And then if you're lucky you will be using good judgement on how much of each makeup you use and she will give in and let you use everything, reasonably!! :) Hope this might help!!

It depends on the person and on the reason.

Caste marks are placed on babies and worn throughout life when it's appropriate rather than a pretense.

Makeup to mask birthmarks is generally acceptable at any age. For those with sensitive skin or family histories of skin cancer, a sun blocking cosmetic may be less distracting than neon beach-type sunblock.

Stage make-up is appropriate on-the-stage and on-the-set, not in school or on the streets.

At your age make-up beyond lip gloss is more likely to block pores and promote acne than perform any other function. The expense is a drain on resources. Sharing make-up can be sharing problems (don't, and don't share combs either ... anyone who'd borrow yours may have borrowed someone Else's too).

How old? Beyond lip-gloss and/or chap-stick, beyond the exceptions cited earlier, IMHO you shouldn't be seeking to wear make-up in public until you've at least reached puberty. Milestones after that include acknowledgment of you as an adult in your religion (sometimes 15YO, whenever) or even completion of public education (i.e. high school graduation or "debut"). The last is extreme, but, if your parents are supporting you, they generally make the "rules".

I didn't start wearing make up until I was in high-school. Chances are, at 11 you probably don't even need it. Unless you have oily skin like I did, then it's a pain, but otherwise, if I were you I would hold off as long as possible before I started wearing it. Enjoy your skin while it's fresh, the girls you know who are wearing it already, will have a way bigger acne problems than you will in the future.

Its ok not to wear makeup. When you get to highschool some of the most gorgeous girls dont wear any. I was 13 when I started wearing makeup, and even then it was only mascara and some cool color eyeshadow. When I got into eighth grade my mom finally let me go to clinique to get make up, however even now I only wear very loose powder, some concealer and mascara, When you do start wearing makeup dont over do it.

id say probably wait until youre 12 or 13. when your 11 , you really dont need makeup, you can be thankful for how naturally pretty you are =] when you do start wearing makeup, dont go overboard. it looks gross when you wear too much of it. i am 14 and pretty much all i wear is eyeliner and a bit of mascara. dont be impatient to wear makeup, the girls who do already , by the time theyve grown up theyll look twice their age and wrinkly and gross! hah, theyll see whos pretty then, you! hah, yes i kno thats a weird thing to say. anywayss, have fun without makeup! =]

It really depends on how much you are going to wear. I wore makeup when I was 11, but my mom got final approval before I left the house. If she didnt like it I had to take it off. If she does let you, go to one of the makeup counters, like Estee Lauder or Clinique. They will teach you how to apply colors that look good on you and how to wear them well.

at age 11 the only thing I wore was foundation and powder to cover-up my very bad acne. I didn't really start wearing any other make-up until i was 14 or 15. And even then I only worn bit of eyeliner, mascara and lip gloss.
