who cares about new players, the texans need to start winning despirately. the fact that they brought in green is a huge plus. okoye should make that d-line solid now too. it's just too bad they can't land a franchise qb. that's all they need. someone to throw to johnson....oh yeah, an o-line to prevent sacks all day is a plus as well

Not me. The key reason they won't do any better is because once again they refused to improve the o-line. Here's my guarantee - Matt Schaub will be on his back more than David Carr. Schaub is slower and has a lot less maneuverability than Carr does. He won't be able to avoid the rush when that offensive line collapses all around him. I think Ahman Green still has a few good years in him, but he'll be running against a stacked box all year long. Because the Texans line is so bad, they use a lot of 3 step drops and short crossing routes. This allows linebackers and safeties to play up on the line and aggressively attack the running game. So Green will help out some, but there won't be a huge improvement. Not a chance of even sniffing the wild card this year. 8-8 would be a miracle, I think 6-10 is a more realistic record for Houston.

They will do something, but no they will not win more than 8 games, No they will not make the playoffs, yes ahman will help the running game and again they can do something with what they got but nothing that will get them into the playoffs. They are still gonna finish last in the division. I think 8-8 is about the best they can do looking at the schedule. They seem to be headin in the right direction, but I think they are at least 2 years away from getting to the playoffs. another problem they face is the division they are in, I dont think they have made enough moves to pass the colts or jags. I think they are about even with the titans at this point.

If they get to 8 wins they will be lucky. True they have Green and Matt Schaub now, but their Offensive line is a joke! Anybody, who knows anything about the game will tell you that game begins and ends with the offensive and defensive lines. The O-line opens up the holes for the runningback and creates the passing lanes for the QB. Until Management in Houston confronts this reality, they will continue to be plagued by losses.

since the Texans have a defensive mind that is all that they are getting in the draft. First passed up on Reggie bush and Vince young just to name a few.......... So until they get a franchise offensive player there is not much the Texans can do sorry man.

Texans are a joke, you might as well call it the draft day curse. Is there anyone that has figured out why the would go with anyone other than Reggie Bush? Their season is over before it starts.

No, no, no and no. Their line completely sucks. Ahman Green can't help that. His tank was pretty empty in Green Bay last year. He had to leave after two plays to rest and he fumbles all the time in the first few games. They way over paid for him and don't look to him for salvation. Without help on the offensive line, I don't see that much improvement over last year. Expect them to be 4-12.

they'll definately win 8 games........in the next three years. okay, maybe four. wildcard? maybe if they played in the NFC. i really don't see them doing anything this year with all their new players because none of them are offensive linemen. carr and davis (or whatever his name changed to) are good players. they just had no one to block for them. so, no, not this season. until they realize that they need to draft or get o-linemen, they'll still suck.

They have a good coach but seem to keep making stupid draft selections and trades. I think this team stays near the cellar for the next few years.
