I had gotten the memory card in the mail about a week ago..then I had to send it back to get one with the black chips on both sides..I got it in the mail yesterday and I had installed it...It didn't work so I called crucial. They told me to try each memory module by itself to see if the modules work and the slots work. The memory card I got in the mail, well when I put it in my computer on its own, it crashed my computer. I restored it but I am returning the memory back to crucial and getting a refund...not sure whats going on. The card that was already in my computer is a Samsung and the one I got in the mail wasn't a samsung. Could that have been the problem? If I had gotten a samsung, do you think it would have worked? Thanks

okay , maybe the bus of the memory chips u received is not compatible with ur laptop , it doesn't depend on the make , samsung or not , it should work as long as the type is right, DDR , DDR2 , or whatever type do u have , it has to be the same , and u have to check the Bus of your current RAM so that u can buy another with the same Bus but higher capacity , i hope that helps

Crucial are normally very good at matching memory to a computer.

Could you post your laptop's make and model ?
