i have recently had surgery, and being in the bed all day has weakened my muscles. the doctor said i should get some muscle stimulators. He said they didnt build muscles, but the strengthened them a bit and would help me. He suggested an ab belt as i could put it on my thighs, but i saw a pair of toning shorts, and eventhought they do the bum, i heard they are quite good at the thighs. However, i didnt know whether they wer just for women, and whether my groin would get shocked. Also, does anyone where i can buy a cheap pair

James...1st I hope that you a recovering from your surgery with out any major complications. As to Toning Shorts there are a multitude of shapes, sizes, prices, safety issues, quality and capabilities.

The make them for men as well as women; some are adjustable to fit the abdominal area, thigh, butt (or bum) and the smaller ones...even the arm. OK...some examples....

JML Microtone - primarily designed for stimulating the leg muscles (thighs). It does take a long time to be effective. But
if you will be recovering in bed for an extended time; at 20 Pounds Sterling it might be a good product.

Cellu-System Magnetic Shorts - Avoid them even if they are free. They have been proved to be FAKE!.

Slender Tone 511 - Slender Tone Flex Male (also make Female model). The 511 is designed to be an Abdominal (waist)Tone Belt that has been clinically proved to be effective. It is adjustable and can be used on a man's thigh and the 7 toning programs 99.9% eliminate the possibility
of shocking your groin James. It has 7 AB toning programs that has a SMART SYSTEM with a monitoring & reporting program. It is a breathable belt requiring NO messy gels. Price is 70 Pounds Sterling.
