There are many things - I have tried a few - working at a restaurant where there were plenty of wine bottles and corks.
My boss actually saved the corks - he was working on a table top, I think.
You could try to make a lamp out of a wine bottle, and use the cork as the 'pull string' to turn it on.
Corks can be used for pull strings on ceiling lights/fans - they don't ricochet as hard as the others...!!
Wine bottles -
Candle holders
Table legs (decorative only)
Vases for plants/flowers
Book ends for the top of a bookshelf
Decoration on an upper shelf going around the room - showing them off.
Incents holder - different scents in different bottles
I used a cork for a key chain - it was a Breast Cancer Awareness cork - wasn't like the other types.
You can also use the corks on the bottom of chairs or furniture - to help avoid scratches and damages.
Good luck!

Actually It's better to recycle the corks. I read somewhere that some wineries are going to the plastic caps for their bottles because of the diminishing supply of cork. The trees they use to make cork are becoming fewer and fewer. So, if you love the classic look of fine wine, recycling (even in the smallest amounts) helps.

Yes..make candle holders or lamps from them..or cut out the bottom, fill with little Christmas-type lights and hang outside around a deck, pool, patio or porch...
I am saving wine labels, and plan to decoupage them to a canvas as kind of an art piece...and I will trim the edge of the canvas with corks...
Also...corks in a pretty glass vase of some kind can be an art object unto itself....

I once took a pretty wine bottle and used one of those dripping candles and it was cool to see how it dripped down the bottle, and gave it a whole new look. The corks make nice pin cushions, lol

I have seen bracletts made from wine bottles.... a ton of jewlery made from wine bottles cause it has the same curve as the wrist..... drinking glasses...my step father use to make tons of glasses out of all sorts of bottles. Mosaic pots, wall hangings, stepping bricks in the garden, table tops, old furniture can be done with broken bottles and grouting compound.....or taper candles ( all different colors ) melted down the sides for the hippy thing !!!

I actually save the corks too. I have a bunch in a stand in my bathroom with soaps mixed in and I've also used them in a wooden container with glass votives nestled in as a low table centerpiece. I use small wine bottles with screw caps for salt(chardonnay) and pepper(merlot) shakers for inexpensive outside table Shakers. You could use a reg size for olive oil just get a pour top to fit. Have fun emptying the bottles!!!!

Turn the bottles into vases... Cut pictures out of magazines and modge-podge them onto the bottles. You can buy kits to turn old corks into corkboards and trivets.

I have seen a new idea, well maybe not too new, when I go to craft shows, I have seen them with X-Mas lights in them, and then they sell them.
They just put one strand in there. Maybe 20 lights, clear.
Or go retro, put a candle at the top and let it drip.
Corks, have no idea at the moment.
Maybe to hold pins?

I like to use them to make vinegars for salad dressings:
raspberry vinegar is my favorite (google for recipe)...but you can put garlic in vinegar with herbs for seasoning...they work perfectly by just re-corking them and storing in a frig or cool place..(put the garlic ones in the frig. for sure)...
.Happy Day!
