~~~ Yes haroula, I do. I give as much as I can and sometimes more. I always give them my pack of cigatettes too,when they are smokers. I've been down and out before,so I know what it feels like. I've been advised not to do that because they're probably drug addicts, but once you give money to somebody....it's not your bussiness what they do with it.~~~

I give beggars on the street money and sometimes I pass them by. Their was this one guy one time I gave him five dollars because he told me he was homeless and very hungry. I saw him run across the street to a diner and turn right around to run back to me to ask if I would like him to bring me back a cup of coffee with the five dollars I gave him.

I usually don't have anything to give them. When I do they sometimes ask for more and don't believe me when I say that's all I have. Next, their buddies ask me. Then they want to sell me some sex. They must be pretty bad off, in one sense or another. I think it's best to give to a church mission with a good reputation for giving shelter, food, rehabilitation and job training. I think that does more real good, usually, but I've seen some that look very desperate, but they usually know the way to the shelters.

Normally no. But I've seen 2 in the last year that I regret not helping out. One had a sign that said "beyond hungry". The other was a 90 year old lady. They still haunt me that I didn't help them.

depends if he really looks like he was in need or was just begging cause ive seen some "beggars" wearing some nice stuff to be down and out

I gave a guy $20 bucks once...I felt so bad he really looked down and out....SOB was standing there 2 weeks later holding that same sign....I give to other organizations...no more goofs on the street for me...

I try to give money until my husband insists I stop. If they truly look down and out, not someone just trying to get the better of my kindness. If possible I will buy a hamburger and give it instead.
