Ultimately love is a decision anyway. If we do not choose to love, honor and obey our spouses then it is just a fling anyway.
Arranged marriages are often made with great research and care and looks toward compatibility.
Take a look at some of the Indian dating and matrimony sites and you will see that the quest for a mate is very thorough for such families.

u know what's so funny? we tend to think "Love" is the only factor for a marriage..but it's not true! yes u need love, and it holds the relationship together and allows it to grow..... but the REAL factor in a relationship (i think anyways!) is WORK. marriage takes work!!!!! so guess what? two people who Love each other, but are not willing or unable to work on communcation and respect, will have a rocky road ahead of them. but people who are Good, and Decent, and work hard to be good people and good partners, can EARN that trust and respect, and it can turn INTO love for each other!!!!!
same goes for any relationship... yes u can have family that you love, cuz they are ur flesh and blood. but if they are bad people, and do bad things, how can u continue having the same relationship with them? sometimes u need to let them go. but if they are good, decent, positive, healthy people and u respect them, u can build on that love, because there is an underlying Trust that u have built together.
good luck..... finding good people is hard, but doable if u hold yourself to standards, and then hold standards for your partner! :)

Sometimes they get lucky. The real reason is that they are from similar backgrounds socially and financially (usually) so they might have common interests and beliefs, which can lead to a stable long-term relationship, including love.

I don't know much of aranged marriages but I believe it has to do with how they are raised and what marriage means to their religion/culture. It is also the effort the 2 people are willing to put into it. Those that try harder last longer!

Because they have to learn to live together and their relationship and feelings for each other are based on mutual respect and their knowledge of each other as individuals, not romance and physical attraction that fades with time.
