I have clotted one day with no cramps on my 7th week but didn't soak up a maxi pad. I ended going to my OB and had a pelvic exam and an ultrasound. Upon the pelvic exam the doctor told me my cervix was closed. Upon ultrasound the doctor told me my baby's heartbeat is strong at 168 BPM. She said the sac was intact, she could not find any hemorraging in or around my uterus. She says it just happens. Usaually on my case they can never find the reason why I am hemmoraging. I had an ultrasound the following week with my fertility specialist and found no problems. The baby was growing, the heart beat was there. Again yesterday I experienced some clotting, not as much as last week, with no cramps. But today I'm fine. This is really frustrating. Can any of you tell me if you experienced the same thing? And what was your outcome?

Thank you Cherise!

That is such a sigh of relief! What happened to you is probably what happened to me. It's funny how the doctors are stumped. They can't figure out where the bleeding and clotts are comming from. But anyway...thank you for listening:) God Bless you!

I hemorraged severely when I was pregnant with my twins. Blood literally splattered all over the floor. (ITS TERRIFYING ISNT IT!) and I bled for 8 weeks straight. When I went to the ER they were talking about doing that procedure where they stitch your cervix (turns out my cervix was CLOSED to begin with!) the babies were fine but they told me the probablilty of me losing one or both of my twins was high. Later they found a subchorionic hematoma (a bruise in the lining of my uterus) and that was what was causing all the blood. I had to have an ultrasound every other day to every week just to make sure things were still fine. Everything healed normally and eventually I stopped bleeding (it took a couple of weeks) and I remained on bedrest (I hope that is what they have you on if you are bleeding bad enough) and my twins are fine!! (6 months old now!) Oh this happened to me in my 12th week.

I had bleeding in three of my pregnancies. Two produced healthy babies, and the third is still going strong at 14 weeks.

Sometimes, bleeding can't be explained. There are countless possible causes such as damage to the cervix through sex, or internal exam (not serious, just burst vessels), decidual bleeding (partial shedding of the uterine lining due to hormones),minor to severe placental abruption , etc.

It sounds like your little one is doing just fine. Good luck!

AS long as the baby looks ok you are fine, its a scary thing but it does happen.
