I have tried cotton underwear, loose jeans and other suggestions from my doctor. At one point he gave me refills for the 1 day pill, but they keep returning... is this common?? Does anyone have any suggestions?? Willing to try almost anything for at least 10 days yeast free.

there's a book you need to read it's called, "the Yeast connection" By doctor William Crook. You will understand why you keep getting the Yeast infections and what you can do to help stop them. This will really indicate you on your problem. This book is available at Amazon.com or order it at any local bookstore.

Some women just have a different balances when it comes to their "sensitive" areas. I had a friend who was also prone to yeast infections where as I have only had about 3 in my lifetime. I guess that when you're on the pill it can also change how frequently you have yeast infections along w/diet. Not only that, you can pass yeast infections on to your partner and continue giving it back to each other. I don't really know what you can do but I would recommend regular vaginal cleaning, drinking lots of water and eating less starchy foods if you haven't already.

It's not terribly unusual, but it's got to suck. Poor you:(

I'd suggest asking your doctor for a more complete workup. Get him to look into diabetes, prediabetes and other blood sugar issues, hormone levels, and any ailments that might be suppressing your immune system.

In the mean time, look into your contraceptive choices. High estrogen levels (such as one gets with most hormonal b.c.) are associated with chronic yeast infections in some women. And, not to be vulgar, but if you're having a whole lot of rough sex, that can be problematic too. Try and maintain good overall health: sleep enough, eat a healthy diet, stay adequately hydrated, make sure you wipe from front to back after going to a bowel movement, and if you're stressed in general, work on relaxing.

Have your doctor check for Diabetes?
Call Your Health Food Store.(There is PLAIN LIVE yogart that they sell for yeast infections). This should work!

Keep cool and remove sweaty clothing such as swim wear.
Do not sit too long your body needs air.

I've never had a yeast infection, but try yogurt, with live cultures. Yogurt is supposed to be good for cramps too, either for athletes or when you're on your period. The idea is that yogurt has good bacteria (you have many different bacteria in your body, only ccasionally will a type be infectious/make you sick/be uncontrolled by your body). so by replacing the good bacteria in your body, they can out-compete the bacteria like the kind causing the yeast infection. Also tea with antioxidants and foods/jucies vitamin C might boost your immune system to help you fight infections in general better

Are you on the pill? Some women taking the pill get yeast-like symptoms if the brand they are prescribed has too much estrogen in it for their systems. Since the remedies aren't working, ask your doctor to do a smear to confirm it is indeed yeast.

Saff is on to something - the culprit is excessive moisture "down there". Like she said, make sure you dry your area with some TP after stepping out of the shower. Plain yogurt was another good suggestion. Oh, and our periods can also aggravate things - I used to get really bad flare-ups just before, but as I got older, things calmed down. Good luck.

Could it be maybe your partner? Men carry yeast infections as well. Also diabetes can cause you to have infections. Get tested for diabetes and other STD's as well as for your partner. He might have diabetes or an std and not know. If he has it everytime you have intercourse it will return. It doesn't hurt to ask..you might not be ready for the answer but it's a step

Cheaper than the doctor: Yogurt, Sour Cream, Buttermilk, Cream Cheese/Vineger. Eat/drink these.

Stay away from these until your infection goes away: beans, nuts, mushrooms, sugar, alcohol, hard cheeses, soda

Someone else in here posted this a few times so I decided to try it. It actually works - AND I lost weight!

that 1day pill isn't the best thing in the world .I would use the 7 day treatment ,for me it works a whole lot better. And if you have a partner you might want to get them checked too.you can be getting well and they can be giving it back to you .Talk to your doctor about that. Eating yogurt keep your self dry down there.like after swimming or showering.
