I see shrek everywhere! I`m so sick of seeing it that I don`t even want to see the movie. Do you think they made it too much of a big deal or is it just me?

Yes I do know that this is the buisness and your supposed to advertise but like one guy said they are going to spend more on advertising than what the movie makes itself. Advertisments never bothers me but I really think they overdid it.

It is kinda funny that you say that. I was thinking yesterday that they have probably spent more on advertising than what the movie will gross.

Theyve over done it big time. I see that big green bean every where I go. All sorts of stores, Toys, cushions,Clothing, Costumes, food related, candy, commercials. It looks like hes everywhere I wont be suprised if they end up giveing him a shampoo deal and toilet paper. They just better be careful if they advertise to much it may backffire one way or another. Whatever you do dont go into Walmart. All I see is spiderman and Shrek all over the place.

"They" have definitely over-advertised... as always.

However, since I have been happy with the first two movies, I am definitely going to see the third. I don't plan to buy any Shrek paraphernalia... but I do plan to see the movie.

Same with Pirates of the Caribbean 3... not buying a pair of skull and crossbones underwear, but am definitely going to see the movie.

I think sequels to movies sell themselves, based on the original stories, and then paraphernalia companies jump on the bandwagon, hoping to glean from the movie's success.

On the other hand, when an original movie (not a sequel) is over-hyped, (like Disney often does), I have often gotten too sick of the movie to go and see it at all.

I know! it's like it's a national icon. They have Shrek glasses you can buy at McDonald's! It's getting a little too out of hand! I agree with you. It's EVERYWHERE! I think they are just wanting you to buy the stuff and see the movie, but I have heard the the movie isn't that good. They even have their own website! Ugh, it's too much, lol.

yupp they made a big deal... If the third movie was going to be anywhere close to the first two ... they would'nt have needed much promos.... the mere fact that it comes from the Shrek franchise should have been enough for most fans to line up at the theaters.
I see a lot of green everywhere :(

The rule has always been "The more hype, the worse the movie". Too bad, I liked Shrek.

It might be over advertised, but to the person who said they even have their own website: ummm, ALL movies have their own website....

Anyway they know if they keep shoving it in people's faces the kids will keep asking and asking to go see it and parents will give in.

They overdo the advertising on everything, kids are their favorite targets. They know kids will pick and pick at mom and dad to get them all the cheap trash that is put on the market.
