Yes they will win. Playing in the CONMEBOL championship will be more of a challenge.

We will be going with our B team pretty much. The defense and goalkeeping should be solid as usual even if Gooch, Bocanegra, Dolo and Howard are given a much deserved break. Guys like Simek, DeMerritt and Pierce are more than capable of picking up the slack. Twelleman and Johnson aren't my favorite strikers but they are in my opinion at least as good as anything most of the competition has to offer. Let's face the fact, ain't no strikers from Venezuela setting the world on fire either. The real problem we have is the same we always have, the midfielders. If Bradley and Fielhaber play we may be able to make the semi's. Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Mexico have to be considered the teams to beat. I would rank us 5th in the tournament in terms of overall talent. Equator is very team oriented and could crush us as well if the our midfielders can't turn fast enough.

I heard
The US has already decided to prioritize the CONCACAF Gold Cup, which is right before the Copa America.
I keep hearing they will send a "B"squad. which is sad because if the US really want to make a name for themselves in the futbol world...they should prioritize the tougher tournament.

Winning the gold cup just makes it easy pickings for them to make it to the FIFA Confederations cup.

Even Mexico prioritize the Copa America....and have usually accepted the CONMEBOL's invitation to par take in the tournament.....

Regardless...I don't think the US current squad( A or B) will win........they are in a very tough group stage with Paraguay, Argentina and Colombia....

the two finalists at Copa Libertadores have been Brasilians,Brasil defeated Argentina 3 days in the past, so i'd think of there's a particularly stable hazard that Brasil will win Copa u.s.

They have no chance of winning it, not with the likes of Brazil and Argentina. Even countries like Peru, Equador and Chile have some world class players. I'm not sure about the tournament format but I think getting to the second round would be a great achievement. Of course, as an American, I'll be cheering for them.

Realistically, I don't think they can. I do think they can get into the 2nd round. Unfortunately, I think they get there by being 2nd in their group, which would mean there's a good chance they'll play Brazil in the quarters. Plus, the whole thing is in Venezuela. I can only imagine how hostile the crowd will be. No neutral field games for sure.

No i think they would be eliminated in the 1st round and taking a B team to the copa america is stupid thats why nobody takes them seriously!!!!!!!

yeah they can take it. I like how their new coach has them playing and how he has Donovan stepping up. I think they can go all the way if donovan and mastroeni play well.
