Not quite the same as any other tube journey. After all, you spend your entire journey with the full knowledge that soon you will be getting off at Elephant & Castle, one of the most truly woeful areas of London.
During the journey you will likely feel depressed, quiet and contemplative; uncertain of your fate, hoping that it won't be as bad as you fear.

I just did that a week ago...as said it feels the same as any other trip. You can't tell that you are under the river, it's just another ride on the Tube.

Not sure I would of thought normal I know its under the river but it would feel like going in a car in a tunnel that goes under the river.

I did that journey when I lived there.
The overwhelming smell was one of body odour and urine, worse in summer than winter, and the feeling was what a sardine must feel like when pressed into a tin, with the lid about to be sealed.

Dark. And quiet - not the busiest part of the Tube system as you get closer and closer to E & C!
