They used to be great, now they're garbage.

I've worn them since 1984 and have always bought 'bona fide' DMs, not knockoffs. The ones I'm referring to have a stupid logo branded into the leather (which they never used to have), and they don't 'bounce' (those who've worn them know what I mean).

depends on if u buy the real thing or a knock-off, because the true doc martens are still made with the utmost quality...i have 4 pair, one of which i`ve had for about 7 years & they have held up very well, in fact they look almost brand new!!!

I have a pair and they're awesome (six eye). I'm pretty sure they started to make them in China, which caused the quality of the true British-made ones to seem bad. Just check the tag before you buy them to see where they originated from.

I have 2 pairs (one for work and one for going out) and they seem fine to me....

Apparently they are no longer made in the U.K.
