Usually on the back side along the edges there are screws (average of 6 depending on brand) . Once you unscrew every one that you can locate try sliding either side panel towards the rear. Some ALSo have a couple tabs (after the screws) You have to release from hanging onto the inner frame and or front plate . you can check this by going around all sides once screws are out ind seeing about the gaps when trying to lift away or slide the side panels.

Facing the front of the computer, most cases open on the left side. Take the two screws that hold the side, they're on the back and slide the side back and then lift it off.

so companys make that harder than it needs to be
lookat your case frome the top and look for the sides that come off
there may be screws in the back for the side panels
if so then remove the screws and slide the panel towards the front of the computer

it depends on the model.
Clones - most computers open from the left side (front facing)
2 screws on the back, then slide the left side panel backwards about 1". The panel should open.
There may be catches on the back for Dell, HP and IBM.

It all depends on the model. Mine opens from the side easily. I unlock a padlock symbol catch by sliding it up, then the metal panel slides open and away from the casing.

trust me you don't want to go into it if your not an engineer like me. if you touch anything inside without an earth strap attached to your rist. You run the risk of an electric discharge off your body to the components inside which will create a massive house brick- non functional. Take it to a specilist to check for you. if you simply want to know what size ur drive is go to my computer right click on c:\\ drive then properties and hay presto you have the answer.
