in installed ubuntu on my computer but then i just wanted to go back to windows but i dont have the cd how can i make a system recovery without the cd?

You can't. You will need an XP installation CD.

go to newegg and buy a retail copy, if you loaded ubuntu as the primary os, you have wiped any registry settings that might have helped. buy the cd, format your drive with two or more partions, use one for xp and the others for test os's

You need the XP installation disc otherwise you cannot revert back. Sorry.

Call Microsoft or they have all the info on your operating system purchase.
