Liberals make unsubstantiated claims CONSTANTLY. Gore says global warming will bring an end to the world soon if we aren't careful. What happens? Liberals unite and rally around a cause they know NOTHING about. I am a scientist. Most people that agree with Gore probably are not. Funny thing is, most scientists agree that that claim is absurd! Does global warming exist? Sure, there is evidence. Is it going to kill our children? Probably not. In the 50s it was global cooling, now global warming. And then come the progressive taxing of us so we can keep people that are lazy on welfare. Here you go. Take out loans, get an education and do something with your life. Finally, liberals are idealistic fools. Conservatives are realists. That is why we are more practical and liberals can't think for themselves. Thanks. Now the question is why are you liberal after reading this?!

According to Tom Leykis, you must be a libertarian. Libertarians like to hear themselves ramble since they think they are much smarter then everyone else.
You talk down about Global warming. Yet, you yourself admits that "Does global warming exist? Sure, there is evidence."
Global warming... Education... Idealistic fools... Your educational background. You're all over the map.
Why am I liberal?
Because I think for a living and don't make unfounded generalizations as you did in your little rant.
Come on now. You're a "scientist" and you're drawing conclusions on liberals based upon your bias.

I'm liberal because many of my views are liberalist. Of course, many are conservative, including my moral view on abortion and other issues like that.
But the current administration has scared me away from being called a republican. (not to say democrats are amazing!)
When did conservatives start believing in big government (telling me what party i should be in, what I should believe in, who I can/can't marry, what my wife can or can't do to her body.)
And no, you're not a scientist. Don't lie.
You claim to be educated. I've never met someone educated who's SO biased against a generalized group of people. You're the one who doesn't know what they're talking about. You asked a BS question that's only purpose was to whine about what you think about liberals. If YOU'RE REALLY A SCIENTIST go back to school. I'm scared if people like you are allowed to get through higher education. I thought open-mindedness was something they taught. Here you are claiming ALL LIBERLAS ARE WRONG and not realistically (hah) asking for anything other than others like you to confirm your beliefs.
Do you have low self esteem? I'm guessing best answer goes to someone telling you you're right and nothing else.

I still like to think of myself as liberal, although many of those who seem to be liberal leaders would disagree because I think the unborn should have their potential to become whatever they can be protected just as gays should have their potential protected.
I also disagree with liberals who say "you can't legislate or impose morality." You can legislate whatever you get the votes for in a democracy. Liberal morality that I support is imposed on those who would rather not offer equal employment or housing opportunities to gays, women or minorities. If conservatives get the votes they can and will impose morality I don't support.
Though I have no way to prove it, I suspect abortion is slowly shifting votes against liberals and toward the religious right. It seems logical to me that those who are told that it is wrong to kill their unborn are less likely to do so than those who are told it is a choice they have a right to make. Thus I suspect conservatives have been raising a greater percentage of the babies they conceive than liberals are, and training them to vote conservative. This is not to say that all prolifers are conservative or anti-gay -- members of PLAGAL ( http://www.plagal.org/ ) and Consistent Ethic groups ( http://www.consistent-life.org/ ) are prolife and mostly liberal.
But you raised the environment issue (sorry for going off track ), so let me say a few words about that. I don't know enough of the science to say you are right or wrong regarding the amount of environmental damage being done, but every time I fill my gas tank or pay for oil heat I can think of other reasons for working to switch from fossil fuels to solar, wind, etc. (even nuclear if the plants are put under ground far enough so fanatics can't kill as many people as they can if they manage to attack an above ground plant successfully).
Guess I'm still liberal after reading your post; even if some folk don't consider me such.

I've never heard Gore say that global warming will bring the world to an end soon if we don't do something about it.
Do you, the scientist, have a link to that exact quote? Since, as a scientist, you deal with facts and not opinion and speculation?
I am liberal after reading your nonsensical rant because you said nothing to change my mind about the things I believe in. You just ranted about ONE issue and expressed your belief that your opinion on that ONE issue should change my entire political ideology. And that is an absurd claim.
That's why.

If you are a scientist, you're the pissiest scientist I've ever heard and I've know several scientists.
I'm a liberal because to be a conservative would mean having people like you on my side. You are rude. That doesn't help your cause.
I read your entire post and it's weird but, I'm still a liberal!

Liberal's believe anything if it gives them more power and Al Gore is nothing but a liar -
Gore spouts this Global Warming nonsense which is nothing but garbage designed to control you and wants people to pay carbon credits and I bet you didn't know that Al Gore defends his extraordinary personal energy usage by telling critics he maintains a "carbon neutral" lifestyle by buying "carbon offsets ," but the company that receives his payments turns out to be partly owned and chaired by the former vice president himself !!!!
I believe P. T. Barnum was right when he stated - " there's a sucker born every minute " and that describes perfectly the people who believe this mans nonsense and utter crap .
Gore also never submitted the Kyoto Protocol to a vote in the United States Senate .

Where are your facts to back up your unsubstantiated claims?
