I'm anxious to know what sex the baby will be. Im counting down the weeks til I find out. I'm hoping for a girl but will be just as happy with a boy!

I think 16 weeks is the gender ultrasound. They couldn't tell at 16 weeks for me, so they tried again at 21 weeks.
Have you tried any of the old wives tales tests to find out if your baby is girl or boy? I think you can find one on babyzone.com
Has the doc, nurse, or midwife said anything about the heartrate of the baby?
If it is HIGH, it will be a girl.
If it is relatively LOW, it will be a boy.
My midwife was right when she told me that. My baby's heartbeat was in the high 160's, and she turned out to be a girl.
Another funny thing that turned out to be true: I told my midwife I had really bad acid reflux and heartburn, and she said: "Oh! That means your baby will be born with lots of hair!". My husband and I were both born bald, but our daughter came out with a full head of hair!!!
I had always heard that as an old wives' tale, but when the midwife saw the baby, she said that it wasn't a myth. I still don't know if I want to believe that, but she sure was right that time.

Just for fun, you can look on a Chinese birth chart... they are not always accurate, but fun to try. At your ultrasound around 19-20 weeks they can usually determine the sex of the baby as long as baby cooperates... this also is not 100% accurate though... I had a friend who was told that the ultrasound showed a boy and she had a girl... she might have had her hand strategically placed during the ultrasound! :)

20 weeks is the best time to find out.. But don't get too excited, I just had my ultrasound, and they couldn't tell!! I was sooo excited to find out, I was counting down the days and hours until my appointment... I was pretty dissapointed when they couldn't get a good look... But with my son they had no problem.... I hope they can tell you!! Good Luck! :)

you should be able to find out at about 20 weeks. It is so exciting to find out what you are having and trust me whatever you have you will be highly satisfied.

Usually around 4 months gestation, but don't be very dissappointed if the obgy. cant tell for sure because it depends on the babies position in the womb.
