does anybody know if a 40 chevy and a 40 pontiac share the same frame? or know where i can find out

Yes they do...just make sure you are dealing with coupe to coupe or sedan to sedan. Many of the other parts are the same as well. Not just the frame.

Actually, this is a little before my time - but I don't think they do. I'm remembering something about an x braced frame on one that isn't on the other.
