Our way of life is under attack not from poor third world country thousands of miles away but from Conservative right wing ideologists right here in our own land. The corruption level of our country from Republicans is at an all time high. Between Scooter Libby and Attorney General Gonzales just to name two out of many. The Patriot act has given the government more powers than ever which has offset the checks and balances this country was founded on. Is it really a necessity to spend BILLIONS of dollars going to war with a country that isn't worth half the money we spent fighting it? We could have spent that money on Homeland Security. We still have ports checking only 10% of the cargo. Our education level is going down according to school test scores, our level of world respect is going down. We need to stand together to win back respect and fight back against all enemies in a manner that makes all sense. Not for matters of personal gain for a select few at the top. To think that Republican party is all knowing and all seeing is ludicrous and ignorant.

So define freedom.... what is freedom. You claim you love freedom and want to protect it. But then you tell me my opinion is wrong and I should stop. And some people are telling me to leave the country because of my views. Are you kidding? That's freedom? People like you telling me I'm aiding terrorists and destroying America. YOU'RE taking away freedoms if anyone is. Debate is a healthy thing in a country and if anything the general public is moving towards democrats because of the failures and scandals of the right this past 8 years. I'm not saying all conservatives or republicans are bad. I'm saying you are for demonizing one side because of what you hear from extremists on TV or authors.
You're a liar and a fool. That's all there is to it. And if you don't like hearing it, report me. It's in the bottom right of this message. But I'll telling you exactly the truth here. I don't hate the military. Far from it. I hate the terrorists. Do you care? No. Do you listen? No. Because the only place you hear confirmation of your beliefs is the extremists sitting around you. Don't you understand that the fact that there's NO OTHER proof of anything you're saying other than extremists kinda proves you're off the deep end?

Does anyone even remember the American way of life anymore? Do we actually agree on what that is? I'll tell you what I think it is, or was, for most people. You're raised in a single-income family, for starters. That's pretty much gone unless you're raised by only one parent, because the tax system makes it impossible to survive on a single income anymore, especially if you want to prepare to put a kid through college. We went to school, and got sent home if we were caught chewing gum. A little different from today, isn't it? We went to work, or we went to college and then work. We married and most bought houses. We took care of ourselves, and our own families. Somewhere along the line the environment, and paying for other people's food stamps and hurricane damage and a three-dollar check-off on our tax forms to fund the presidential election snuck in. Time was when the American way of life was self-reliance. Somehow that has become being responsible for everyone else, none of whom are responsible for themselves.
Is the American way of life under attack? I don't think so. I think that it was, but I think the fight is pretty much over and done with.
What actually killed it? Basically government programs like welfare, social security, confusion over what a "right" actually is, income taxes, bloated government salaries, the war on drugs, Eek!ology like global warming and bans on nuclear power, outsourcing caused by excessive government regulation, and a pervasive misapprehension that the Constitution is some mysterious arcane document that only a Judge can understand.
Yeah, I miss it. I still try to live as if it still exists, but I know I'm kidding myself unless more people wake up and realize what both the Republican and Democrat political machines have done to them. Unfortunately, I think most people actually like the new way.

I agree with you that America is under attack.
We have the president changing the constitution to reduce our freedoms. We are spending our children's future on a war that can not be won by us. We are polluting our environment and that will affect our lifestyle. We are accepting the corruption of our officials. We are keeping in our cocoon because we have accepted the administration's pleas that we should be scared of everyone.
It is about time that people wake up and realize that the problem is not which party that we are a member but that the fighting about who does what has to stop and we need to bond together to make this country safe, stable, and free.

We know. We are doing the attacking. We vote in the Republican primaries. We lure minorities and the elderly by convincing them we care about 'their' causes more than we do about American freedoms. They buy it, with cash, we give it to lobbyists to promote our causes and increase our friends profits. Why do you think we changed the focus from the 911 attack on US soil to prosecuting our evil soldiers and protecting the enemy in the courts of public opinion. Its all about the $bottom line baby, wake up.

Oh the Democrats know it. I know it. The pendulum is swinging, though, and the religious morals police are on their way out. So are the patriotic zealots who are as dangerous as the scripture-quoters. Our American way of life is on its way back, don't worry.
