Look up Central Casting and Bill Dance Casting. For extra work you will always have to pay a fee to register with the company, that's just the way it is, but if you stay on top of things you will get work. It's a long hard day though. If I were you I'd go ahead and try it for a while and see if it's something you'll enjoy. I wouldn't count on making a living from it though... I also wouldn't sit back and wait for a phone call. Call in often.

A good rule of thumb is if any agency requires a fee to join, it's a scam. It doesn't cost anything to be represented- an agency works for you and only takes a fee after you've gotten a job through them.
