It is revealed that the Oil-For-Food programme in Iraq loses $21 billion, funneling illicit funds into the hands of despot Saddam Hussein. Outraged people who call for Annan's resignation are promptly dismissed by the indignant Left as "swift boaters" and "witch hunters" out to get poor Kofi.

2007- World Bank President Paul Wolfowitz uses his influence to get his girlfriend, bank employee Shaha Riza, a promotion to a plumb job, with a raise amounting to $60,000 (chump change for an institution that takes in $12 billion a year). Paul Wolfowitz. He represents the very epitome of the Bush administration--unchecked greed, influence peddling, take care of your own Ramboism with no regard for ethics or public opinion. You seem to dismiss the $60,000 raise, far more than most US workers even make. But considering the World Bank is supposed to be an organization that helps the world's poorest, the irony is not lost. Keep advocating for the GOP. Enough handjobs and they might get YOU an undeserved raise.

Paul Wolfowitz and his neocon ilk have raised corruption to a moral doctrine: "It is the responsibility of every individual to garner as much for himself as possible, and by any means necessary". His administration at the world bank was so compromised by his neocon worldview that when the scandal broke it was his own people that called first and loudest for his head.

Kofi Annan, on the other hand, was so popular and effective at the UN that the body took the unprecedented step of giving Africa a third term of leadership (Annan's second). Not coincidentally, the only ones accusing Annan of any serious corruption are the neocons. Not surprising when you consider his heroic resistance to the neocon's agenda for unilateral action (or inaction).

I won't pretend that I know a whole heck of a lot about the two. But Kofi, kofi, kofi. You've been a very naughty boy! Very naughty! So naughty that if you're not careful you could find yourself with a noose around your neck like your old former pal Saddam.

Kofi Annan and all of those buffoons @ the UN are corupt as corupt can be, no ands, ifs or buts about it.
They have not done a dang thing except get rich and put down my fellow American's as if we are the cause of all of the world problems.

As for Paul, you do know that he went to the board of directers and told them about his gf and requested that they handle her promotion and raise issues, but they said "NO U DO IT WE TRUST YOU", in order to make HIM LOOK BAD. they are also corrupt, PW is stuck in the middle because he is actually trying to fix all of their screw ups. DONOT BELIEVE THE LIBERAL PRESS< PEOPLE< THINK FOR YOURSELF< AND WATCH FOX NEWS< THEY ACTUALLY TELL YOU THE WHOLE STORY, not just parts of it like CNN< and all of those!!!!!!

How convenient for you to leave out Mr. Wolfowitz's role as deputy secretary of defense. We wouldn't want a man partly responsible for the needless deaths of thousands of Iraqi civilians (not to mention the 3678 coalition deaths) to be villainized, would we?

Kofi, by a mile. Paul is not likely the cause of thousands of deaths due to his corruption as was Kofi.
