Yes - what you don't know can hurt you. For example, if your b/f, g/f is cheating on you and you didn't know and got a v/d because of it! That would def hurt you - physically and mentally.

This statement must not be taken in context. If you consider it seriously, the answer is both yes and no. Yes, funny it has not cross my mind before. When it comes to bad news and gossips, how true this would be. However, when it comes to knowledge, it is not the case. For example, a child who does not know that certain snakes are poisonous would get hurt playing with it. So, in this case, what you don't know Will hurt you.

I do not believe "ignorance is bliss". It is always better in my mind anyway to know what the truth is and to deal with it accordingly. Even if it's a painful truth, or even more so if it's a painful truth.

Basing decisions and lifestyle choices or personal relationships on illusion is not a good thing. Deceptive practices cause more pain than the truth ever will.

The statement is true in a way, imagine you cheat on your woman/man: for as long as they don`t know, it`s not going to hurt em.
I would like to think there are better examples out there.

think this way,

If what was suppose to hurt you and you didn't feel a thing

then what you don't know ( that which was to hurt you) didn't hurt you.

tadah!!!

If it sneaks up and slaps you in the face it would hurt, that's for sure. And, um, I'm not speaking literally, of course.
