I think that Hilary Clinton would be the favorite but they know that if she is put into the spot for election that she wouldn't win. The world just isn't ready for a female president and although I am a female and could possibly be blasted for this I'll say it anyway. A woman shouldn't be President of the USA. It's not the proper place for a woman to be commander and chief when most foriegn countries don't even recognize the status and position of women but rather think of them and being inferror. You need for now at least a man in that position so that it presents a look of respect and trust. PLUS I would NEVER vote for her for the shear fact that she will bring Bill Clinton back to the White House and he didn't deserve the first trips in must less a 3rd trip in on his wifes coat tails. Also she and Bill didn't get the kind of punishment for the white water scandal that they participated in so they don't deserve the position. Now if Fred Dalton Thomas ran (which he would run Republican all the way) I think even alot of Democrats would vote for him because he has a good mind for politics and is a very mater of fact person. The popularity of Rudy Gulianni from his work on 9/11 will only carry him so far. Republicans I don't believe will turn out in droves to vote him in because he is to middle of the road republican voting for things that we do not support. I believe in the end that Barrak Obama will be elected. The world is more ready for a black male president than any of the other candidates currently in the running and I think he would do a decent job.

John Edwards. Because the "powers that be" in the party will realize that they need to go with a mainstream "cookie cutter" candidate that fits the mold. They can't afford to loose votes to the republicans which is what they will do if the choose a "novelty' candidate i.e. The First Woman President or The First Black President. Either of those will send too many older Dems over to the other party.
It's unfortunately just the way things are, thats why the word "Politics" isn't usually used in a positive manner.
Great question though !

Barack Obama is who I want to win. He has good sound ideas about how to get us out of the hole we're in. His race should have nothing to do with his electability. This country really needs to move forward and leave the good old boys club behind.
As for Rudy Gulianni, I think almost anyone could beat him because he's a real wild card.

It might be like '04, which is what I'm thinking. The top contender (Dean) ends up losing the primary. I may be going out there, but I'm going to skip out on the top two contenders and say Edwards (but in all honesty its close and I don't know)
If up against Gulianni it'll be close, if it's Obama and Gulianni, I might go Obama (I'm a moderate who leans more conservative, but wants something new). With that said, I'm big fan of McCain and his history so if he McCain went up I'd vote for him. I don't think I'd vote for Clinton, she's not moderate enough for me, and I do like someone who can understand the fact that things aren't black and white and must take things on an issue by issue basis. Anyways, just my thoughts. :)

Obama! (Or should). Because of his attributes of intelligence, honesty, and family values set an example for a much needed change in politics. He seems to tell it like it is and foresees the problems encompassing America at present. He would either be a "savior" of this nation or the "Devil in disguise". Guilianni lacks any moral values and is your typical politician which America has had enough of--Obama by TKO.

Hillary is going to win the nomination and the presidency. She will do a fine job in resurrecting our country. She has invaluable experience in all of the key areas that a president needs.

It doesn't matter, because any of the current Dems running will all but guarantee another victory for the Republicans.
