Hmm let's see... .
2005 - UN Secretary General Kofi Annan uses his influence to award the biggest Oil-For-Food programme contract to a Swiss firm called Cotecna. Annan's son Kojo works for the firm. It is revealed that the Oil-For-Food programme in Iraq loses $21 billion, funneling illicit money into the hands of despot Saddam Hussein. Outraged people who call for Annan's resignation are promptly dismissed by the indignant Left as "swift boaters" and "witch hunters" who are just "out to get" poor Kofi.
Compare:
2007- World Bank President Paul Wolfowitz uses his influence to get his girlfriend, bank employee Shaha Riza, a promotion to a plumb job. The now outraged Left demands Wolfowitz's resignation, because he is a "corrupt neocon Zionist"
Wheres the proportionality?
