I think it's been successful at keeping conspiracy theorists and religious crazies in business.

The main impact of the United Nations has been through its international organizations such as those which aid refugees,
and information gathering for such things as epidemics.

As far as keeping the world at peace, well, obviously it has failed, mostly because it's actions do not encourage peace but stir up trouble. Really important problems such as the horrors currently occurring in Darfur or the dictatorial rule of Mugabe in Zimbabwe which has destroyed his country's economy and impoverished his people, are totally ignored. And when they pass resolutions, such as the one against Iran's nuclear development, they don't follow up.

Personally I think the UN began with good intentions but it has now deteriorated into a boondoggle for retired ppoliticians.

They have never impacted anything except to allow spies and conspirators under the protection of political asylum to enter the United States and to cost us taxpayers billions of dollars to support them. If you can find even ONE instance where they have made a difference to world peace, please let us all know!!

Nope no and hell no

All you have to do is read the papers. war is everywhere and has been continuously since the founding of the UN

The wars are not the UN's fault, but they do little to end them
