I connected my modem to UPS. But when current goes off, internet gets disconnected for a while. Why?

I directly plugged the modem to UPS. I have broadband. Why does this happen.. Won't UPS work for modem?

What type of broadband do you have?

If you have cable, then there is a local switch in your neighborhood, if your neighborhood loses power, then that could well be losing power.


If you want to test it you can:
Connect to the internet
Either pull the plug to the UPS,
Or throw the breaker to the UPS outlet.
Or throw the breaker to the house.

See if your connection is affected.
