that is possibly the dumbest thing known to man. that and having kids when you're not financially stable. like now i love my girl, that's my baby but i don't want to marry her until i get done with school and get a real job...you should've tried to talk your friend down...but maybe you did. some people just don't listen

I don't think the problem is getting married when they're not financially stable (unless they were both living with mom and dad and have NO IDEA how real life works). Marriage actually made me and my husband more financially stable because then we were working on mutual goals and paying only one set of living expenses with two jobs - instead of both taking care of ourselves.

What you should ask is: WHY DO PEOPLE HAVE KIDS BEFORE THEY'RE FINANCIALLY STABLE?

My husband and I were both in a bad financial situation when we got married. We still did it and ever since then I had someone else to think about but me and it made our finances a lot better. Maybe she needs to stop and think that saving is good and to cut out the unnecessary purchases to save more and think about what NEEDS to be paid. So what if she has to stay home on the weekends. She can stay with hubby and enjoy each others company.

Sometimes you hope that love is enough. You follow your heart, and money isn't an issue. Until you buy that house or new car or have a baby.

The important thing is to make the appropriate choices in you relationship. Learn to budget, learn to deal with finances. It is easier said than done, but can be done.

they take the good and the bad..."for better or for worse" My husband and I got in a very bad financial situation and were almost near homeless but we stuck together and are now (a year later) getting to where we can afford things for us and our kids. We did a lot of sacrifices but in the end it was totally worth it! I wouldn't change it for anything. It made us a lot stronger.

Assuming they are young, I'm thinking they just didn't think about the financial part of it, They were "in love" and wanted to get married.

It's not the lack or having of money that makes people miserable in marriage.

Most people don't think about stability, financial or otherwise, before getting married.
