yellow light on pc with 3 or 4 beeps/clicks?

Yes I am a computer moron ! The light on my computer is yellow and sometimes there are 3 spaced clicks. This happens not only just after I have turned it on, but sometimes it happens at random. When I run disc defrag, there are 4 clicks. Sorry to be so stupid, but can someone please talk me through this?

There are usually 2-3 lights on the front of a computer. Green is usually the power and the yellow is usually Hard disk Activity. This means that the hard drive is being accessed and is no big deal. The clicks may be coming from the floppy drive as you boot, or as it seeks a file on a disk which is not there. It can also be a problematic hard disk about to fail.

Id have the unit checked out by a tech to be sure, but it appears that your machine is really ok.

That yellow light is the Processor Activity Light. There is nothing wrong with it.

right click on blue bar bottom of screen (task bar)

choose task manager

check options there to see what your computer is doing
check scheduled tasks

do this way
start
control panel
scheduled tasks
check whats there if any thing
or add one if you want to or remove one there

these steps below will help clean up your computer


In Internet explorer at top of window select tools - then delete browser history
- then another box will open - select delete all- this will not remove your book marks
-Then close explorer then open again .At first pages will be slow once
and then will load fast after it loads 1 time.Also email etc you will have to sign in 1 time with pass word etc.
This will create new cookies.

Also go to start at bottom of on task bar.
click start 1 time then select find or search depending on your operating system.
Select all files and folders - then type in defrag and click search.When icons come up double click
and new box will come up - select analyze then you will see how fragmented you are -
then choose defrag.You can put this program on your desk top by right clicking on the icon you found in search for defrag.
Right click choose create short cut.This will put a short cut on your desk top.Then you can use as needed in future.
