My parents chose to not circumcise me when I was born, and I'm now considering getting circumcised as an adult. I've heard good and bad things on both sides (circumcised you supposedly lose alot of the pleasure, uncircumcised looks smaller and has more risk to disease), has anyone here ever got circumcised as an adult or known someone who has?

I'm taking this seriously, I would greatly appreciate it if everyone else did.

From what I noticed is that if you're having problems with your foreskin (which is rare) then you're bound to find an improvement in getting circumcised. (The logic makes, sense, right? You wouldn't have surgery just because)

I only know one personal friend who had it done for looks, and he regrets it. So my guess is that if he had had problems, he would have liked it.

You shouldn't look smaller when uncircumcised, since it is more skin around it, especially when it slides back and its behind the head.

Take medical advice before making a decision. The American Medical Association and the American Association of Pediatrics both state that routine circumcision is unnecessary.

There is no hygiene or disease difference between circumcised and uncircumcised, provided you use proper hygiene - that is, pull the foreskin back when showering and wash the head properly.

The only medical difference actually researched is that if you have UNPROTECTED sex with an HIV+ person, you have a 50% more chance of getting HIV. However, if you wear a condom, your chance of getting HIV is exactly the same as a person who is circumcised. It's stupid to have unprotected sex with new partners anyway - who wants a 50% chance of getting HIV?

If you do have the operation, your pleasure will be decreased, and it won't make you any bigger!

If size is an issue, make sure you shave your penis shaft, and the hair on your scrotum; and clip the hair around the penis very short. The result will be to apparently add an inch or more to your length. It's an optical illusion of course, but the difference in appearance is impressive!

ADVANTAGES OF BEING INTACT:
--Circumcision cuts WAY down on sexual enjoyment for the man due to loss of nerve-rich foreskin. A new study proves conclusively, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that circumcision decreases sensitivity for the man. http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/doi/abs/10.1111/j.1464-410X.2006.06685.x
--Getting cut causes the glans (head) to develop a keratinized layer to protect from rubbing on clothing, further cutting sensation. Many cut men are unable to ejaculate during intercourse and have to finish by hand. Intact men can go all the way.
--nine out of ten women who have had both prefer intact penises: http://www.healthcentral.com/drdean/408/60750.html That's really pretty definitive.
--foreskin makes masturbation more fun - and better for your partner to play with.
--Circumcision can be very painful during the recovery period. Some guys say it isn't so bad, while others say it is the worst pain they have ever experienced.
--a cut penis looks kind of sad with that scar where the foreskin belongs. Uncut is much hotter looking.
--Circumcision has some chance of complications, as is true of any surgery.
ADVANTAGES OF BEING CUT: Circumcision has no advantages that are not fictional or only relevant in a few areas
--You can be just as clean if you are uncircumcised. Wash. It's THAT simple. Even if you're cut, you still need to wash.
--Recent reports from Africa say that circumcision reduces the risk of AIDS from unprotected hetrosexual activity. This has little relevance to areas of the world where condoms are cheap, readily available, and culturally acceptable. The US has the highest circumcision rate in the developed world and also the highest AIDS rate in that group. http://www.circinfo.org/hiv.html

And no, I have not experienced circumcision myself, and I'm never going to! Nobody gets near my privates with anything sharp!

I've heard the docor say that it is really painful for an adult to be circumsised, but sometimes is neccesary to prevent disease. I would not worry about the looks, just concentrate on the important facts.

I was circ'd as an adult for medical reasons that made it neccesary, but I would say im happy with it, and you dont lose pleasure, it feels the same it just will desensitize you a little so your stay time will go up.

I don't think looks should be your concern. Daily shower and washing it will address the disease concern. It will hurt like heck if you do!

My Brother did and he's an adult. He said it was painful for a few days but it was worth it in the end. I hope this helps.
