Compliment--the left in fact does NOT favor equality. They separate people into 'groups' and promote racial intolerance under the guise of equality. Sinister!

Seems to be that that sums up right wing philosophy nicely.

Seriously, though, since the association of "sinister" with "evil" comes from superstitions in medieval times (long before the "left and right wings" of the assemblies following the French revolution became associated with liberal and conservative thought) I wouldn't read too much into it.

Besides, while I think one could arguably refer to the left as naive, anti-business, bleeding-heart doves, "sinister" seems much more aptly applied to Karl Rove or Alberto Gonzales.
