Guess I'm not an adult yet then since I'm only 25 according to your analogy. Got the kids and the spouse, don't have the job yet being a stay at home mom is a full time one, yet I don't get paid, but oh well, I'll always be a kid at heart. It pays off well when around 2 ornery kids all day. Gotta keep up with them somehow when the coffee wears off!

I agree with you. Of course at 18 I thought I was. Then at 25 I was pretty sure I was all grown up, but now at 26 I am still in graduate school, not settled in my career, single. I hope I have it figured out by 30.

even at 30 some adults can act like children , i think you become an adult when you are able to live as an independent and dont have to rely on anybody else for ANYTHING and you are able to take care of yourself and others and are financially and mentally responsible

I think it's different for everyone. If you can responsibly handle money (and credit) you are probably responsible with most other things too. Then I think you can be called an adult.
