Everyone's going to say this, but you gotta practice shots. Work on cementing them in your muscle memory with lots of practice.
Silly games like roundtheworld might give some good practice from a variety of spots on the floor. Don't quit till you can go around and back without missing.

1. Remember that shooting is 80% in the legs. You must jump to the highest peak of your range
2. Don't loose focus on the rim and visuallize your shot going in.
3. Remember to keep your elbow staight and let your support hand BE just for support.
4. Try to take shots with out your pinky. Usually (and this is hard for some people to understand and practice) Your first three fingers tips should be the main thing controlling the balls thrust and spin Remember that.
5. Shooting practice-101-----Do you know the free throw spots on the court? Go to each one of those and take ten shots Keep track of those 80 shots and take 10 shots from the free throw line. Then do a percentage of those. Do this at the end of a practice. Keep track of this to record your progress.

Practice shooting. When I first started playing basketball, I could rarely make 2 shots in a row or 1 shot. I have been playing basketball for about a year now. I can make 5 in a row from the 3point line now and 5 in a row from inside of the arc. I want to net 10 in a row from the 3point line and 10 in a row from inside of the arc. Some people try to tell other people how to shoot, but I think shooting is self taught. Everytime you shoot at the rim, you get better.

I played in HS and our coach had us do some really odd but effective drills.
First, he had us carry and dribble a basketball ALL day the day of a game. By the end of the day bouncing the ball was an automatic thing, which needed less thought. (Ok, so the other teachers had to get used to it, and we didn't dribble in class but you get the idea.)
The reason I bring this up was another excersize he had us do. We woudl take a ball and using ONE hand, bounce it up against a wall, and then catch and bounce it back and on and on. On the wall we put a chalk mark, up about 10 feet up (same height as a basket) and we aimed for that. Imagine how much work it is in 5 min time to do this. Hold the ball in your hand, shoot for the mark, it bounces back, catch it with the same hand, shoot, bounce, catch, shoot... After we got used to that, he had us bounce on our toes and do the same excersize. After a few weeks of this our aim and touch was very good. We moved from the wall to the basket and aimed for the backboard. The difference was incredible.
This all goes with the same old "practice practice practice" addage.

Brandon, (my name too) the Marvinator is giving you the best advice a player can get from any coach, trainer, or friend. You want to practice and carry around that basketball until everything you want to do on a basketball court happens by natural reaction.
Work on your footwork and ballhandling skills by doing drills with cones/chairs, focus when doing these drills, be precise.
Shoot the ball from everywhere on the court by yourself. Chase down that ball solo and shoot the ball back up from wherever you catch the ball at, being mindful of your form everytime you shoot. Practice til you are exhausted, stretch before and after, incorporate weights to get stronger at shooting rebounding, passing and playing defense. The more you do something the easier it is supposed to become for you.
Challenge yourself by playing outside of your comfort zone. "Have you ever gone somewhere to play and you could feel the vibe coming off the guy you are playing against, and that vibe says he thinks he is better than you. He gives you that smirk that says he is about to do you like the last 2 guys he just played in the 2 games his team won before playing against your team next?" Well I have and that **** gets my juice going and atthat moment the MJ in me comes out because I know its game time. and its either me or his *** looking foolish out here and Im going to dominate. Practice til you feel that confident in yourself!

Here's another drill. Stand about 4 to 6ft in front of the basket. With one hand, shoot the ball. You should hit your shot and never touch the rim, every shot should be nothing but net. B4 or after every practice, do this until you hit 10 in a row without getting rim.

complete your shot in one motion. The greeks shot out USA's eyes in the 2006 tournament. Lot of the shooters all shot off one motion as opposed to upper body jump/set shot which is mainly american.
If you look at nowitski, his earlier shooting was with the ball in front of him. he has motified his shot with the ball behind his back and off a one motion release at the top of his shot. (He played terrible in the tournament. He seems to choke at every playoff. I believe he is the best shooter in the NBA. He still shoots with one motion.
As a PG, I would study nash/kidd . . . they are the last of a dying breed. I think the Hawaiian kid playing for washington may have the stuff to be another of these type players. NBA is findin fewer and fewer stockton type players.

first go to summer camp and then if you really want to get better take on new people i travel all around town playing new people to see how good i am and learn some of there moves so i can enhance them to be my own then play for a team a team where u can run a bad team and see can u make a difference.

just make sure your shot is fluid and all in one motion. i also used to strap a belt around my waist and my better dribbling hand so i had to get used to dribbling with my poor hand. my ballhandling shot way up cause i also played soccer so i had the faster first step but i also had my dad keep a hand in my face when i practiced so it became too easy to shoot over taller players.

Thats very good. To improve ur shot keep ur elbows in and flick ur rist wen u shoot. 4 all around try using ankle weights 4 speed.
