Some do. Mostly you see the parents wearing the fanny packs. I think it's just a personal preference. I would never go without it, but some people don't like them. You will have enough to carry I'm sure, so make sure they are responsible for their own things, either with a fanny pack, or whatever.

I've been going to Disney World for many years, and I don't recall seeing any young boys with fanny packs (usually older folks where them). It's usually the mom and dad carrying around huge backpacks!
If he's only going to be carrying a wallet, I'd suggest having him wear some sort of cargo shorts that have either button up or zippered pockets. That way he'll be able to secure his wallet and still look cool (which is most important at that age!)
If he needs to carry more things than that, I'd suggest his school backpack.

I used to wear the fanny pack but HATED how I looked in photos. (I am overweight to begin with, and those things really made me look worse)

Now I use a small backpack. I only would advise that when you are standing in a line, to remove it and hold it in front of you . (You don't know if someone in back of you would try to take something out- you wouldn't see!) I often wear it backwards!

Plus, when I buy small souvenirs, I have a place to keep them without lugging bags around!

This should work well for your son!

Have a great time!

Although I think the fanny pack would be more secure, he is 13 years old. Try getting him one of those thin backpacks. Nike or Adidas usually makes them. You can get them at any sporting good store. They are like a sack but the drawstrings allow you to where it like a backpack. We are going to Disney World in July and I know that what my brother is wearing. Have fun.

Tourists where them all the time, locals do not though. I have seen a bunch of tourists (mainly Brazilians, so not sure if it is only sold in Brazil) wear a real thin fanny pack type thing under their clothes that honestly you can't even tell they're wearing it until they lift up their shirt to get something out of it.

I have seen older people wear fanny packs but not a teen age boy. If anything get him a backpack to wear there. And carry bottles of water, snacks and what nots in it. They do check the bags at the gate but it's no big deal. Have fun.

I did (37 years old). I saw kind of a mixture. Most of the males wearing them were either a bit older (and wiser some might say) or they were younger, like my 7 year old son. As for the teenagers, some did have them on some didn't. I know they look dorky, but they SO come in handy. I really don't care how I look, I care that my wallet and keys and such are safe, because even though you are in the happiest place on earth, there are still people out there trying to get your stuff. I say have him take one, but not wear one the first day and make him carry his own stuff. If he has a hard time he will want to wear it himself. (Just don't let him loose his "Key to the world" card.)

Hope this helps.

what is with these people answering? I worked there and go there all the time and see the whole family wearing fanny packs. If he is dead set against it, get him a sling that goes across the body. the strap goes diagonally across his chest. It's small and won't weigh him down. here's an example. You can get these at most retailers especially sports stores.

Once in awhile you see a kid wearing a fanny pack.
You could try using:

Backpack
Money belt
Man Bag
Leg bag

Fanny Packs are out of style. They were the style of 1990. They are out of style in Orlando, my hometown, and anywhere else. No one under 50 wears one today.
