I think that equivocating the attacks of 9/11 with justification based on our military's presence in Saudi Arabia (at the behest of their government) is spurious at best. There is no justification for 9/11. Ron Paul saying he "understands" the reasoning behind the attacks can only lead to rationalization of further attacks as being against US imperialism.
That is unacceptable and is why Paul is a fringe candidate at best.
