Now this is the question that i have been looking for. I am a Tigers fan born and raised. Been there through out the rough years....And my answer to you is, yes i honestly believe that the tigers have what it takes to go all the way this year. Yes it is going to be a battle in the American League Central. WIth Rogers coming back soon, they will have unstoppable pitching, they are getting their bats going. As for Maggs, hes going everything right this year. Hitting after Sheffy who is an execlent player who is a feared hitter, has brought up Maggs' bat. Then after Maggs you have Carlos. I think that with Sheffy on the team he has found a way to improve everybodys bats. The line up for the Tigers is a tough one, and there are no easy outs. After the year that they had last year, no matter how the tigers finish this year you have to be proud of your boys.
Who is your Tiger?
Mine is Pudge!
Go Tigers!

That's hard to say. One poster said when Rogers comes back they will have unstoppable pitching. I don't buy that. I would match up Carmona and Sabathia for Cleveland vs anything Detroit throws out there. Now I do believe that Detroit and Cleveland will come down t the wire in the Central. The loser takes wildcard. The rest of that division can't touch the Tigers or Indians. Now Boston is the "X Factor". I have seen Boston produce some strong teams in April-June--then falter. Key questions on whether Beckett or Schilling will stay healthy will determine Boston's success. I believe this Dice K is very beatable. So many possibilities this early in the year it is hard to predetermine what may happen. I will go as far to say Detroit will stay competitive all year barring some very key injuries. And Ordonez is only doing what he has the majority of his major league career-producing effectively-the hair is ridiculous though!!!

The question comes up each and every 3 hundred and sixty 5 days in view which you have Verlander, and because you play interior the AL necessary and you're greater or much less certain to attain the submit season. a similar club could desire to be the Giants. yet they have a great bullpen and 5 solid starters. The Dodgers have 2 aces, yet no longer a great bullpen or protection etc. And returned the Tigers. you haven't any longer have been given any known closer, even after signing Valverde, you have holes interior the bullpen. I see you interior the submit season yet no WS.

Not since Oakland in 1988 - 1989 has a team lost the World Series than gone on to win the next year. So history does not favor the Tigers getting back to the World Series - let alone win it.
They have a good team. But they just seem to be missing something. I can't figure out what it is.

Tigers just lost 3 of 4 to the Red Sox and their bats were quiet. Ordonez is still good but seems passioneless

Tigers are one of the top four or five teams in the American League and have a good shot at it this year. It all comes down to pitching and they have it. Ordonez is finally healthy and is doing what he has done his entire career.

Tigers for sure have what it takes to get back to and and wouldn't be shocked if they win the world series. And for Magglio hes doing everything right.
AVG .333 | HR 9 | RBI 38 | OBP .421 | SLG .653
• Ranks 5th in AL in BA (.331) • Ranks 7th in AL in HR (8)
• Ranks 2nd in AL in RBI (37) • Ranks 5th in AL in R (30)
• Ranks 8th in AL in BB (23) • Ranks 8th in AL in OBP (.420)
• Ranks 3rd in AL in SLG (.634) • Ranks 3rd in AL in OPS (1.055)

Detroit definitely has what it takes. I love their pitching staff. I'm actually a tribe fan, but you gotta love Detroit. The division is tough, but that'll only help them. Mags will be fine, but even if he isn't... i think they'll still be good enough.
