A little over a third of the 50% or so of the total amount they have an agreement to share with the British Government, less their operating losses incurred for the last two years in the search for this wreck. Total state and federal tax liability will probably be in the neighborhood of $90 mil.

The company that found the shipwreck has to pay 80% of the find to the government.

I personally wish they would use the money to help feed and clothe people who really need it. $500M would go a long way toward helping people. But of course, the govt. will lock up most of it, the rest will go to collectors, and no one who needs it will get it.

they'll probably be in court for years fighting over it. I think they should give it to central america where it was stolen from centuries ago
